Is That Your Final Answer? – MKMMA Week 18

who-wants-to-be-a-millionaire-toughest-question.jpg“Is that your final answer?” Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last decade or so you’ve probably heard that phrase before. We’ve all seen the game show. Money builds up. questions get more and more difficult. Lifelines are gone… The contestant gives their answer and the host asks over and over, “Are you sure? Is that your final answer?” It’s the moment of truth.

Have you ever noticed how sometimes you can see their level of certainty as though it was written on their face? Are they barely able to speak because of a dry mouth? Are they wiping the sweat from their palms on their pants? Do they have a panicked look on their face? Or, do they look confident and self-assured? Do they look like they KNOW, beyond any doubt, that they are correct? We can see how certain the contestant is through the way that they talk and move but this is only half of the story.

We see the rest of the story when the answer is announced. Sometimes the person who was completely certain turned out to be completely wrong. Sometimes the nervous wreck who was sure that they wrong turns out to be correct. This is a clue for us and I’m going to tell you something very interesting about certainty… Certainty is not a logical state… it’s an emotional one. Psychological study after study has shown this to be true.

What does that mean? It means that certainty is a feeling. As such, it functions according to the “rules” of feelings. It does not have to conform to being based on logic or fact. You can feel lonely in a room full of people. You can feel connected to humanity even though you’re all alone at the top of a mountain. You can choose to feel certain even though conditions don’t necessarily support that conclusion. You can choose to feel uncertain even though the evidence states that you have every right to feel confident. These feelings are choices… Our choices.

Confidence-Level.jpgWhy is this important? It’s important because your ability to create the future of your  dreams is dependent on your certainty that you can achieve it! (Remember point #1 of the Blueprint Builder?) Ultimately, thought, charged with feeling, leading to belief, resulting in action is what is going to build your future… your definite major purpose (DMP). Are you more or less likely to take action if you lack certainty? Lack of certainty leads to paralysis and hesitation so a lack of certainty is definitely going to interfere with creating your dream. This is why the Blueprint Builder focuses so much on the development of self-confidence and certainty… because it is a precursor to action.

In addition, certainty helps us to be clear in our thinking. Haanel talks about focusing our thoughts in one place like a magnifying glass. How can this be done if we are uncertain? How can we focus the power of our mind if we are scattered with thoughts of plan B, C, D, E and F? Certainty concentrates our mind which focuses our actions which leads to results. It is essential to manifesting the life that you want. After all, if you don’t believe it, how will your subconscious?

Sometimes I end my blog with a question or a challenge… This is one of those times. The million dollar question is:

How certain are you that you will turn your DMP into a reality?

Now before you answer, remember that certainty is an emotion. It doesn’t need to be supported by fact in order to be felt. Can you conjure a feeling of certainty around your DMP? Do you conjure this feeling every time you read it?

If you are 100% certain, so that you know clear to your bones, that you will create this reality, that you are already creating it, then I can say with confidence that it will be done. If you lack certainty around your DMP then this is an excellent place for you to devote your efforts. Stoke this fire so that it can light your way. Choose to feel certain regardless of what obstacles stand in your way. Think of them as paper dragons that will be blown aside when the time is right. You will find that certainty, along with a will to act, will make for an unstoppable combination.

I feel certain that you can manifest your dream… Do you?

BRILLIANT blog, Daniel. You express the MKMMA philosophy beautifully, in your own words. I look forward to reading your next blog 🙂 Yours in Gratitude, Light & Love, Peace & Joy wendyht (still blogging – from outside the programme for now – at a pace that supports my nervous system ;-)))

Thanks for the feedback, Shirley! I am LOVING the comments that I’m getting from people sharing the certainty that they are feeling around their DMPs. I think it’s definitely something worth considering.

great blog Master Daniel…. love it! now you’ve got me thinking as there have been times when I was so certain of something without a doubt! and it happened when the circumstances in my life would never have allowed that to happen. The whole MKMMA is testing me on my certainty of my DMP… I have felt into it from the beginning and it has wavered along the way and week to week bits die and don’t feel certain and other bits thrive and feel certain… but can certainty be built? or is it already within you like a lighthouse in the storm? Is it your intuitive lightbulb that flicks on when you are aligned and you get that “I am doing it! It has already happened! It is done!”..? What do you reckon?

I loved your comment, Brony! You put a lot of thought into things. I definitely believe that certainty can be built. It comes more easily to some than others but we can definitely build it. Remember the first time you were on skates or on a bicycle? You probably didn’t have much certainty. After getting more experience you had plenty of certainty. To develop certainty with things you can’t experience visualization can be a powerful tool as well. Being aligned with your purpose is important because I feel that cognitive dissonance (pursuing something you really don’t believe in) sabotages certainty. And a big piece, perhaps the biggest, is having confidence in yourself and your capabilities… And why shouldn’t you have confidence? You are nature’s greatest miracle and you persist until you succeed.

Thanks for your thoughtful comment. What are your thoughts about bits of your DMP that feel shaky by times and strong at other times?

I find that I’m a visual person and once adding images I found it easier to get the enthusiasm into it… but I have this little voice that sits in my head and whispers… “money, money, money” “you need it and don’t have enough for all that”… it’s such a misty hazy voice… but it sits there and has sat there my whole life and it’s behind every aspect of my life… obviously more to the story… So for now I look for awesome images that conjure up expansive feelings… and focus on those.. plus all the MKMMA exercises… until the next layer of the onion is peeled…

I can relate to what you’re saying, Brony. I have that ‘logical’ voice in the background as well that’s asking how I think this is possible. That’s the key, though… How do we THINK this is possible. Certainty is about feeling, though. Certainty is a choice. And it is by making that choice that we start to realize that what we THINK is possible might really just be scratching the tip of the iceberg. Great insights! Thanks for sharing!

Great blog! The YouTube universe just put in front of me the Magic of Believing by Claude Bristol, it was awesome. I understood it…!!! The law of attraction is pulling things out of my mind the underlying thought and bringing it out from the universe. The key words that have been popping up is imagination/ visualization and believe. Thank you, big fan of your writing.

Belief… Faith… Confidence… Certainty… We use lots of words to describe the same crucial aspect of accomplishment / manifesting. In the end, though, it’s all about knowing, deep in your bones that you will find a way or make a way. At that point, it is already done.

Thanks for your comment and for the encouragement, Wes. I really do appreciate it.

Thanks for commenting, Lorelei! I LOVE your certainty! It speaks volumes!

I, too, have enjoyed reading people’s comments with regards to their certainty and love their courage for sharing! Whether certain, or confessing to being a little shaky at times, there is so much we can learn from each other as we share together. Gotta love a mastermind! 🙂

I first read this blog two days ago and I got an empty chill when you asked the question because the answer came from my old blueprint, “I could if I really wanted too.” I have work to do. Thanks for the wake up.

Thanks for sharing this, Bruce! I appreciate your coming back to do so.

I LOVE that you are perceptive enough to have realized your initial response to the question. There may be more work to do but your awareness (to realize), honesty (to accept) and courage (to share) has me saying that you’re probably closer than you realize! So happy that you found the post useful. Can’t wait to see what you do with it!

As always, an inspiring post, and yes I AM certain. Hadn’t thought of certainty as an emotion. I will think on that now. As my DMP is coming to life, I’m amazed at the comments I get. “Why are you doing X that way? That’s now going to produce A (usually money).” Thanks for their comments, but A isn’t why I’m doing it.

Glad to hear of your certainty, Day. Yes, there is some very interesting research examining certainty as an emotional state as opposed to a logical conclusion. I always think of a guy I used to hike with who told me my compass and GPS were both wrong because he was, “CERTAIN that North was that way!”. Keep your certainty and make sure it’s leading you in the correct direction! Thanks for commenting!

And I am cheering for your success also, Phil! So glad that you enjoyed the blog. Here’s to certainty, even when the facts don’t seem to support it. Remember, that sometimes facts may seem against what we know with certainty such as round earth, radio waves, and germ theory. These scientists were certain yet they were labeled as crazy heretics by their contemporaries. My position is not to disregard facts… Simply to realize that we don’t necessarily know all of them and can still choose to believe in our potential. Great points. Thanks for commenting

If it weren’t ever changing then I would say with enthusiasm Yes! However, as I’ve traveled down this road for 18 + weeks I caught myself writing something on a gratitude card that really got me off guard. I now am rethinking on my dmp being geared towards helping others far greater than my original.
Thanks for another great blog Daniel

If your DMP is changing to become more in line with your purpose in life then that’s AWESOME! You can still have complete certainty because the certainty is in yourself. It’s based on your confidence in your ability to create your future… not based on what that future is. So GREAT, Yvette! Thanks for your comment and best to you as you tune your DMP in more and more!
